Day 12 ::: Graminger Kirta

The Graminger Weissbräu is a small private brewery with adjacent brewery and guest rooms and a beautiful beer garden. Once you have been in this beer garden you will definitly come back for this atmosphere and the beers.

In the calendar we can enjoy today the dark Kirta Weissbier.
This beer was originally created as a Festbier for the Altöttinger Kirta. The addition of dark malt and roasted malt results in a rich mahogany color and a fruity, malty flavor. Adept beer tasters will even notice a slight hint of chocolate! The Kirta white beer goes perfectly with hearty dishes with dark sauces, such as roast beef, grilled beef loin, beer goulash, obatzter and chocolate desserts. The Kirta is a cloudy, orange beer with a small, white head. The aroma is mostly roasted malt, as well as a light fruitiness. The taste is sweet, malty and slightly fruity.

We are curious how you like this beer and are happy about many comments. Please use this platform so we can talk about the beers here.

Reminds me of Franzkanner but thicker in texture. That isn't a bad thing! I'd drink it more!

Delicious dunkel. Nice malt and the typical German weizen-yeasty flavors. Everything I hope for in a German wheat beer.

This was a good beer, but I have had better Dunkel Weiss. It was a little too fruity for me. It was not bad either though!

In this past, this style beer was my favorite, but in recent years I’ve drifted away from them. That said, this one grew on me as I drank it. I typically don’t like sweet, but this beer found a good balance between malt and fruit. Maybe the citrus is making me think it’s sweeter than it is. Good offering for the day.

I agree, it does look like apple cider, but a faded hint of fruit notes

Mine had a nice foamy head and dark, cloudy color. I detect surprising sour notes in the finish.

Typical hefeweizen imo.....i tasted bananas, clove, and molasses (or caramel). Was expecting more head for a wheat beer. Check out my review on YouTube or Facebook "Beer-ating with Sean Connors "

Great combo of the malt with the fruitiness. Wasn’t sure how that would go, but was pleasantly surprised. A harmonious blend where one doesn’t overpower the other. Another winner on day 12.

A nice, smooth, frothy, dark bier that is a bit on the sweet side. Subtle hints of banana and caramel add to a Great Mahogany color with a rich creamy head.

Excellent dark amber beer. It starts off with a hint of citrus and then finishes with a drawn out malt flavor. Very drinkable and refreshing.

Thanks for the video. Although, Somehow the audio was playing backwards. I did manage to make out the term “banana split” which was exciting. Nice dark malty beer with terrific flavors and aroma. I really like this weissbier! Well done Cheers!
