Brewer's Advent Day 6: Bosch Propeller Turbo Prop

"Propeller" is the craft beer brand of the Westphalian brewery Bosch. Hans-Chrisitan Bosch leads the brewery in the 11th generation. "Propeller" was created in 2014 as a supplement to the classic line of the Bosch brewery. Four beers are currently in Propeller's assortment. Even though Propeller does not yet produce much output - they brew on a large scale.

So what about their "Turbo" Prop? The Imperial Pils from Propeller potentiates the beer style Pilsener. More alcohol, more hops, more of everything. Pils with turbo. From the light malt come honey notes and the full-bodied and soft mouthfeel. The German hop varieties Herkules (for the bitter) and Saphir (for the aromas) are typical for a Pils, in Turbo Prop they were supplemented with Citra - cold hopped.

A unique beer for sure. I love PAs and IPAs, this one is in a category altother. The initial taste is slight bitterness but it gives way to honey and even green apple tartness. I paired with some spicy homemade wings and it was delight as the beer has a wonderful crispness despite its heavier mouthfeel.

A truly unique beer. Never had anything quite like it. I love PAs and IPAs and this one is unlike any of them. It has a slight bitterness but it becomes honey and, as strange as it sounds, green apple tartness. I had this beer with some spicy homemade wings and it paired perfect because it also possesses a nice crispness despite its heavier mouthfeel.
