Description

Memminger Brewery has an adventurous history. Josef Herz laid the foundation in 1887 when he founded a Brewpub, and he wasn't alone; there were 21 other breweries in the town at the time. Twenty years later, the three largest breweries combined their forces, and Josef Herz's successful brewery was part of it. They formed a joint-stock company, and success didn't take long to arrive. The "Bürgerliche Brauhaus" expanded, merged with the next brewery, bought another, and another... The facilities were modernized, a new brewing site was built, and it was renamed. At times, Memminger Brewery was the largest in southern Germany.
