Oppigårds Bryggeri - Thurbo Triple IPA

The beer style originates from IPA. For a period in the 1990s, brewers in the US competed to make the highest alcohol content and the most bitter IPA. This development eventually led to new beer styles, first in the form of Double IPA and then Triple IPA. Our beer is not completely typical of the style as we have chosen to keep the bitterness low. It promises great flavor and aroma of sweet stone fruits with a marmalade-like character. Brewed from Pilsner malt and Carapils, Thurbo Triple IPA is a classic IPA in a modern version with extra malt. The beer is clear and has a fantastic flavor and aroma of sweet stone fruits and citrus. The high alcohol content sweetness is balanced by a well-rounded bitterness. It pairs excellently with well-aged blue and hard cheeses.
