The Waldbier 2018 "Holzbirne" is brewed with flowers, leaves, gossamer and toasted wood from the wooden pear. The wooden pear is the prototype of today's culture pear. The addition of various tree components creates a true forest cuvee. The forest ingredients were harvested in the Styrian forest district Wildalpen in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Forests. The top-fermented ale yeast and the flower and fruit components give the beer its flowery-fruity nuances. The toasted wood chips provide flavors of vanilla, coconut and whiskey. The natural and unfiltered creative beer, which was clarified by a very long cold storage, can mature over several years in the cellar. With the forest beer, the Austrian Federal Forests (ÖBf) and brewing master Axel Kiesbye want to bring the forest into the beer bottle. It shows in a tasty way, the variety of treasures and products of the forest produces: from wood over game, mushrooms and herbs to aromatic pleasure and seasonings. As a high-quality vintage product, the forest beer is thus to be understood as a symbol of this diversity.
Starke - Holzbirnenaromen, auch im Geschmack. Neu und interessante Kreation, nicht schlecht, aber gewöhnungsnesürftig.
