Beer description
The unfiltered beer with a "hint of smoke" gets its characteristic slightly smoky taste through the use of smoked malt - in former times a common method to dry the malt. For a long time, this aromatic beer style was forgotten, but today smoked beers are experiencing a renaissance, especially in the USA. The Freistädter Smoked sparkles maroon from the glass. Malts and smoky notes play on the nose. The palate impresses subtle smoke flavors, in the finish, the fine hop notes of the Mühlviertler aroma hop come through.
