Beer description

149 houses in Freistadt's city center have shares in the Braucommune, in the brewery - since 1770 and recorded in the land register. Happy home and landowners, they're brewery owners too! They always receive a crate of bock beer at Christmas. Master brewer Johannes Leitner made a difficult decision in 2014. If the Freistadt bock beer was light until then, he now brewed a dark one. The Black Bock was not popular with all 'Communards'. You don't like to give up what you love. Today it's different, the dark one is loved by everyone. Anyone who has ever been present at the tapping of the bock in the inner courtyard of the Freistadt brewery knows it. The jurors of the European Beer Star were also enthusiastic right away and awarded the master builder's idea. Black Bock received a gold award. Freistädter Black Bock: Dark chestnut brown, creamy foam. A cocktail of cocoa, coffee and malt aromas on the nose. Full-bodied initial taste, strong structure, good rezency, warming. End with fine dark chocolate and delicate Mühlviertler hop notes".
