Beer description
Elixir 777 - in a limited edition
When the Freistadt master brewer Johannes Leitner and the head of the adventure distillery Peter Affenzeller join forces, the result can only be something very special:
DAS Elixier 777 in a limited edition
This special strong beer creation with 10.4 per cent alcohol by volume was created by maturing the Freistädter Doppelbock "Imperator" for months in oak barrels - pre-coated with rum - in the cellars of the Peter Affenzeller distillery.
This is how the two "creators" describe this speciality:
The noble flavours from the barrels gave the "Elixir 777" a very complex intensity.
Honey-coloured with a subtle cloudiness. The beer smells of coconut, fine chocolate, baked apple, cinnamon and, of course, rum. Oily aftertaste. The strength of "Elixir 777" is also expressed in its particularly fine perlage. Reminiscent of dried fruit and apple strudel on the palate. Great finish - intense, warming and long-lasting.
Why the name Elixier 777?
As a tribute to the official founding year of the brewing commune in 1777, there are exactly 777 bottles of this noble creative beer.
