Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Tripel - American Outlaws series. Barrel: Rye Whiskey, 14 months (Sazerac Rye) Ingredients: Water. Barley malt: Pilsner, Cara-Pils, Biscuit. Wheat malt. White sugar. Hops: Styrian Goldings. Coriander. Yeast: Abbey Ale The Old West has several examples of outlaws turning lawmen later in life, but there are also examples of the opposite, Burt Alvord started his career within the confines of the law, but it did not last. Born in California in 1867, Burt moved several times as a child ending up as a stable hand in Tombstone, Arizona. Already at a young age Burt Alvord had a reputation for frequenting saloons and participating in several bar brawls, but still the local sheriff recruited Alvord as a deputy. While he did help Sheriff Slaughter apprehend many outlaws, his image never improved. His alcoholism continued to worsen and he began hanging out with criminals. When his boss reprimanded him for this, Burt simply handed in his silver star and quit. Not wasting any time, Alvord soon joined some of the many outlaws he had befriended over the years. He formed a gang with outlaw friend Billy Stiles whom he had once pursued during his deputy career. Alvord’s gang committed several robberies and both he and Billy were captured several times but somehow always managed to escape.
