Peroni - Nastro Azzurro Sardegna

Nastro Azzurro Sardegna was born, an edition based on 100% Sardinian barley malt thanks to the collaboration of 30 young local farmers. The project started in 2018 with the young local producer Francesco Matta, who together with Nastro Azzurro began growing barley on the land of Villasor in the province of Cagliari with a first harvest of over 3,000 hundredweights. A success that other producers in the area of Villamar have brought this year with over 250 hectares of land for a harvest of about 7,000 hundredweight with it. Nastro Azzurro Sardegna is a straw-yellow stock with a dry and refreshing taste with a delicate bitter note given by fine aromatic hops. The nuraghe is shown on the label to identify and remember the connection with Sardinia and the territory. "We received with great enthusiasm the idea of dedicating a special edition of our brand Nastro Azzurro to Sardinia", says the manager of Nastro Azzurro, Dario Giulitti. The Director of External Relations, Birra Peroni, Federico Sannella, recalls the company's commitment to protecting the agricultural supply chain and "more than 1,500 companies today working with us to produce an excellent raw material". The mayor of Cagliari, Paolo Truzzu, is pleased that in the agreement with Birra Peroni and Nastro Azzurro he sees an important opportunity for entrepreneurs to develop production on the territory, also because one of the problems of the region is depopulation.
