Beer description
It turned out that our our new joint craft, brewed up with Bottle Share Brewery in 2017, was kept northern in both style and substance. We like it that way, and so continued through a line of strong, unconventional beers and found ourselves working through the culture of the Baltics. Namely the gastronomic traditions in Latvia, taking for inspiration Rupjmaize, the country’s original sweetened rye bread.
It’s brewed in the style of a rye win, and in many ways takes from the spirit of the original recipe. Think rye malt, caraway seeds, a dense body, high proof, and notes of freshly baked bread in both its aroma and sweet, malty taste.
