Yeast: US-Ale No, the Amazons is not the name of the family behind one of the world’s leading tech companies. If you dig long enough in the history lessons you were taught in school, you just may remember that the Amazons were a fierce tribe of female warriors in ancient Greece. They were not equal to men when it came to skills such as horse riding, archery, strength and physical agility – in many ways they were actually SUPERIOR to men. Men were seen exclusively as a necessary evil in order to continue the tribe, and boy children were considered useless and returned to their fathers. These proud warriors were also extremely healthy in their eating habits with a particular fondness for citrus fruits, especially lime fruits. They would use them in drinks, in marinades, for baking and preserves, and pop them as a snack like we pop tangerines around Christmas time today. Some scientists have even claimed that lime fruits are the secret behind the unusual physical and mental strength that these warriors possessed, while others have claimed that this assessment is pure speculation with no scientific facts to back it up.
