Beer description
The "Holzdieb" gets that certain something during the storage time in our whisky barrels. Immediately after the "Martinsloch" single malt whisky was bottled, we filled our still moist sherry whisky barrels with the "Holzdieb". During the lagering period, the beer takes on flavors from the whisky, sherry and American oak, giving it a full rich body and complex roasted and coffee notes.
To allow this beer to develop all of its flavors, it should be drunk in an open sipper and warm at about 10-12 °C. The complex flavors from the barrel continue to develop positively and it may well be that this beer reaches its optimal flavor only after 1-2 years of storage (cool and dark) in the bottle.
