Day 21 ::: Bären Weisse

This beer specialty pours cloudy honey with nice white, rocky head which stays for long. The aroma smells like banana, bubble gum, fruit and cloves. It features a medium body with high carbonisation. The taste is lightly sweet and dominated by a banana flavor. The aftertaste is slightly hoppy and a
tiny bit bitter.

Wheat beer in general usually is top-fermented, brewed with a large proportion of wheat relative to the amount of malted barley. The two main varieties are Weissbier, based on the German tradition, and Witbier, based on the Belgian tradition

The brewery Egerer was founded in 1919 by Wilhelm Egerer. Heinrich Egerer, the founder's son, took over the company, which at that time only filled lemonades and bottled water, in 1929. Heinrich Egerer acquired the brewing right in 1931 and brewed beer at the location for the first time. The following year the company began to deliver lemonade by truck as a Grokj home service to private households. In 1973 the private brewery already supplied 40,000 households with 50 different types of drink from six depots. In the early 2000s, the Grokj beverage home service supplied over 100 trucks a week to around 50,000 regular customers from the company's headquarters in Großköllnbach and eight other branches.

Looks more like a wheat beer than tastes like a wheat beer. I’m glad the description gave the banana prompt, which does help describe the taste. Mostly though, I taste the cloves on the end.

Tastes like a Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. The banana everyone is referring to tastes more like a lemon flavor to me. All and all though a good beer!

Just a great Weisse beer— Well carbonated, cloudy straw colored brew with yeasty morsels floating around. Sweetish, with banana finish.

Might be among the weirdest tasting brew I've ever had. The banana flavor is odd but not in a bad way. I actually liked it

This wheat beer had my expectations set high when I read the review and poured a glass taking in the subtle aroma of apricot, banana, and clove. The appearance had the expected cloudy golden yellow color, but not much of a frothy head. Taste was strong with the banana, clove combination but not as sweet as I was expecting. The finish was a little sharp with a very mild bitterness like the alcohol was pushing through. Not a bad entry in the calendar, but fell short of expectation.

Average at best...not bad but nothing great. Disappointed by the little head. Check out my review on YouTube or Facebook at "Beer-ating with Sean Connors "

Nice frothy head. A very refreshing crisp, wheaty taste with a taste of banana as well. A great wheat beer
