A special specialty awaits us on this last day of the beer advent. We treat ourselves to a very fine and multiple award-winning beer specialty. Ladenburger Weizenbock brightens up the day. Merry Christmas!
It's incredible how many breweries in Germany can look back on a long, long history. Ladenburg Brewery is one of them. Beer has been brewed in the small village of Neuler for over 225 years. The bird in the brewery's coat of arms is an eagle. It reminds us that the brewery used to be called Adlerbräu (Eagle Brewery). Around the year 1910 Max Ladenburger married the brewer's daughter Mathilde and renamed the Eagle Brewery to Ladenburger Brewery.
Our today's beer, the Ladenburger Weizenbock, is truly fantastic and has won several awards. Gold and silver at the World Beer Cup and three gold and one silver award at the European Beer Star.
Golden color, dense turbidity, stable and creamy foam. The smell is fruity, reminiscent of banana. On the palate, full-bodied and creamy with well-integrated carbonation. The banana also dominates the taste, well combined with light citrus freshness and some clove. Be careful: The high alcohol content is well "hidden"!
We hope you enjoyed these fine beers from Germany.
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
