Woodstock Brewery, located on Albert Road in Woodstock, has grown larger and larger in recent years. With the talents of Murray and Dylan, Woodstock Brewery today produces and distributes 10 different beers, including seasonal and specialty brews. The trip to Woodstock Brewery began in Korea when Andre Viljoen decided he wanted to try something entrepreneurial and move back to the Mother City. The decision to build a brewery was inspired by the fact that it was a perfect combination of art, business and science. In addition, there was a big gap in the craft beer market in South Africa. Andre bought the building from the Internet with Google Street View in a neighborhood that was the burgeoning gourmet center of Cape Town at the time. The building was a mass of concrete, perfect for a brewery that would otherwise have ended up as a landfill. Today, Woodstock Brewery is in various branches throughout South Africa as well as a selection of markets in Cape Town and the surrounding area. The brewers always play with new flavors and techniques and constantly create new and exciting beers.
