Description
The founder of the brewery in Valjevo was Valjevo merchant Dimitrije Mitrović. The company was founded in 1860 as a craft enterprise for the production of wooden barrels and handicrafts. The brewery was able to expand and develop thanks to the contributions of other merchants as partners. The steady growth of the brewery made it grow into a joint stock company in 1891.
The introduction of the steam engine in 1910 marked a turning point, the beginning of industrial beer production.
The brewery operated as a joint-stock company until the Second World War. After the Second World War, the company became state property and was later managed as social property.
After the Second World War, April 26, 1947. The company was nationalized, became a state enterprise and trades under the name Parna pivara "Jedinstvo". In the following years, the brewery increased its capacity, the amount of beer produced, the number of employees and the number of products in its production assortment.

With the changes in the economic and system legislation, with the adoption of the Law on Enterprise in 1990.
The brewery changes its ownership form of organization from the form of a labor organization to a social enterprise named "Jedinstvo" to Valjevo.
With the amendments and additions to the Articles of Association approved at the referendum on April 5, 1991. In 2008, the company changed its name to social enterprise for the production of beer and soft drinks "Pivara" Valjevo.
From 19.09.2000. 2008 the company operates under a new name: DP "Valjevska Pivara" Valjevo.
On January 31, 2011, the brewery became the property of the state with the adoption of the reorganization plan.
Since 2019, the company Brewery Group from Belgrade has been the owner of Valjevska Brewery.
The main activity of the company is the production of beer and refreshing soft drinks.
