Description
Probably since the end of the 16th century there was an inn with a brewery, malt house, distillery and bakery on the site of today's Gasthof Seitz. In 1792, during his inventory for the Prussian king, the chancellery inspector Gottfried Köppel reported on the excellent beer that the Thuisbrunn brewer was serving. In 1852 Johann Wölfel took over the business. Under his direction, the Thuisbrunn Wölfelschen Brewery began to flourish. At peak times, it supplied up to 38 local innkeepers and employed a large workforce. After his death in 1904, the property changed hands several times. However, the successful years could not be continued and the brewery was closed. In 2002 the Kugler family took over this historic property and reactivated the brewing tradition in 2007 with the Thuisbrunner Elch-Bräu. The head behind the Thiusbrunner Elch-Bräu is Geog Kugler. The master brewer, master maltster and beer sommelier creates high-quality Franconian beer specialties with a lot of passion. His beers have received several awards at the "European Beer Star Award". In the following you will find more information about the individual beers.
