In 994, Mark Ihrig read an article about a Midwestern company that had launched the first Internet Club for Beer of the Month. Entrepreneurs kindled. I think we have all this great beer in my own garden, I love beer and I have to be part of it. So in the garage The Micro Beer Club was founded in 1995 and tells as many a business history. Later, in 1999, the Cellars Wine Club was launched, which is still active today. In 2001, Mark founded the Boxing Cat Brewery, a 3 BBL system he bought from Whidbey Brewing and experimented with for a few years. The timing was not right. Although the brewery was focused on the wine club, the passion for the industry never ended. Holly Ihrig worked at Microsoft in early January 1986 before going public and working there for over two decades. During this time, she worked as a consultant to yacht brokers in the Pacific Northwest. In 2008, she founded a wedding planning company, but was only employed for one year. Holly retired as a senior. Consultant in 2012, so she and Mark can focus on doing something together. Mark's ambitious entrepreneurial DNA, the dream of owning a brewery, and Holly's enthusiastic marketing skills combined our unique strengths. The vision for Sumerian Brewing was born. At Sumerian Brewing, business and pleasure meet. Together with the manifestation of a vision, husband and wife, teamwork and collaboration, a milestone has been reached. Our goal was to build the brewery carefully for the future, so to expand. In a startup, you can not do a great job of everything, you have to prioritize what's critical: "product and location" and what "nice to have". Reformed perfectionists, we have wasted no time on "having fun" Even with the helping professionals or our brewmaster, who helped with the construction and at the same time perfected the recipes, it took longer to create and open our space, but we wanted to look up the future coming out of the gate and growing. Our goal is to brew tasty, high quality and impressive West Coast style beers. Tall, bold in character and spicy. We have an exceptional bridal team, sales team, pub managers and staff.
