Description

The Stadtbrauerei Spalt is a brewery in the Middle Franconian town of Spalt, which was created in 1879 from many small breweries. Since 2006 it is the last municipal brewery in Germany. For beer brewing the "Spalter aroma hops" is used, which is the most important commodity of the city. First historical records date back to the year 1376. The city brewery brews according to traditional brewing art without preservation. The beers are not heated during brewing and stored cool after bottling. All varieties are used according to the Purity Law of 1516. The maturation takes five to ten weeks.
