Description
The former Tigerbräu Groß Gerungs (now Stadtbräu Groß Gerungs) was brewed in Groß Gerungs in the Waldviertel until the mid-1950s. Almost 60 years later, on the 30th anniversary of the town's elevation in 2013, the beer was brought back to life.
In January 2023, the original name Tigerbräu had to disappear due to a trademark dispute. However, the new name Stadtbräu Groß Gerungs is based on the same brewing recipe as back then.
The naturally cloudy draught beer comes from the brewing town of Zwettl. Brewed as a full-bodied beer with 12.5 degrees original gravity and alc. 5.1 % vol. with a malty, aromatic character and a noticeable, but by no means dominant hop note, the new Tigerbräu spontaneously won the hearts of the people of Groß Gerungs.
