1489: The oldest document to prove states: operator change in the so-called Steiner "tavern" on the castle grounds. Here Steiner beers came to the bar. 15th-19th Century: Owners were at that time the nobility of the Torringer (several centuries) then Count Carl Fugger of Kirchberg and the barons of Lösch. 1845: Princess von Leuchtenberg, Empress of Brazil, buys stone. Under her and her nephew, the Romanoff prince and Tsar's grandson Nicholas, Schloss Stein experiences the time of glittering parties and balls. Stone also owes him his present-day appearance in the English style. 1890: Castle and brewery become the property of Count Joseph zu Arco Zinneberg. In this time also the new building of the brewery, as it presents itself today. 1934: The brewery is founded by the couple Dr. med. Max and Ilse Wiskott and Otto Conix. 1938: The brewery becomes a limited partnership and since then operates as Schlossbrauerei Stein Wiskott GmbH
