Description
The Brewery The Rye River Brewing Company was founded in November 2013 by three local guys with a passion for beer and everything Irish! The idea of conceiving a beer fueled night as the pubs discussion went from the challenges of the economic downturn to the opportunity to do better, create jobs, fuel a local economy and live the dream! And so began the story of the Rye River Brewing Company. The McGargles were born and the team started building. Just a few years and the brewery employs over 60 people, produces a range of fifteen beers including six McGargle beers and is a distribution center for imported brands like Bavaria and San Miguel along with craft beers like Innis & Gunn from Edinburgh. A Legacy of Brewing The Irish town of Celbridge is famous for its long and prosperous brewing tradition dating back to the early 17th century. The town was made up of large lots, which were the main source of employment for Celbridge, and each of those self-sustaining lots had their own brewery! James Carberry's Brewery opened in the town center in 1709, the brewery where some of the country's world famous breweries began their trade. A city steeped in history and with a long association with breweries, this is the ideal place to brew fantastic beers and write our own brewery story - in which case, the story of the dysfunctional Irish brewery's first family, the McGargles.
