Description
The 19th century - how it all began In the spring of 1800, the clarinetist Alexander Rolinck (1782-1849) was appointed court musician and cupbearer in the service of Count Ludwig zu Bentheim-Steinfurt. From 1820 he devoted himself to his new passion - brewing beer. He went into business for himself and founded the brewery that still bears his name today. Around 1850 his son - again an Alexander Rolinck - learns the art of brewing in Bavaria and, after completing his training, introduces the bottom-fermenting brewing process in Steinfurt. He and his brother Friedrich have been trading as the A. Rolinck Open Trading Company since March 7, 1859. They expand and move the brewery out of the city to Röwekamp because the best water is found there and the beginning mechanization makes a new building necessary. Rolinck Pilsener was brewed for the first time as early as 1875 - today the main brand of the brewery. The 20th century - under the sign of quality In the following decades the brewery developed into a leading regional brewery with excellent and excellent beers - always up to date with the latest brewing technology. In 1991 the non-alcoholic Pilsener is brought onto the market. In 1995 our quality management system was certified (DIN EN ISO 9001) and in 1997 our environmental management was certified (DIN EN ISO 14001). The 21st Century - From Product to Range In March 2000, Alex Rolinck fine lager, in December 2001 BASTARD the beer cola and 2002 the calorie-reduced Rolinck Radler, which have enjoyed great popularity since then. A balanced range that meets the quality and taste requirements of our customers today. Since 2007 - development based on tradition In January 2007 the A. Rolinck private brewery is sold to one of the largest German private breweries Krombacher. Since then, Mr. Thomas Bressem, long-time head of production, has been running the plant as a further location for the Krombacher brewery and developing it according to its strengths. In 2019 he was inherited in this role by Marcel ter Steege, who is also long-term employee, who now continues to cultivate the Rolinck brand and the art of brewing associated with it and who further develop the company dynamically and innovatively.
