Description

In 2021, 8 Nuremberg brewers and a hop merchant joined forces as a spontaneous initiative under the motto "One for All, All for One" to form the Nuremberg Brewing Community. The first beer brewed together, the "Zusammen Halbe", was intended to be a sign of solidarity among brewers in difficult times. The initially one-time cooperation was given a long-term framework in 2022 with the founding of the officially registered association "Nürnberger Brau Gemeinschaft e.V.". The chairman of the association is Stefan Stretz from the Schanzenbräu brewery. The declared aim is to foster deeper dialogue and cohesion among Nuremberg's beer traditions and to preserve the brewing culture. As a visible sign of this intention, a limited edition of the so-called "Gründungs-Seidla" was brewed jointly in the same year. In regular general meetings, joint events are to be initiated, and every year on April 23 - on the "Day of German Beer" - the members of the association want to commemorate the enactment of the Purity Law with a special beer specialty. Behind the "Nürnberger Brau Gemeinschaft e.V." are the brewmasters of Schanzenbräu, Bierwerk, Bruderherz, NBG (New Beer Generation), Nürnberger Burgbräu, StreuBräu, Zeltner, Tucher and the hop merchant BarthHaas. The 2023 edition of the "Zusammen Halbe" is under the motto: "Nurembergers help Nurembergers"! The sale actively supports the Nuremberg Child Protection Association.
