Description
The old mill in Oschenitzen was leased and reactivated by Franz Posod in 2015, whereby Posod rehabilitated parts of the mill itself, repaired the mill wheel and installed new water supply lines. The mill wheel is now driving a generator, with whose electricity Posod will brew beer at the mill in February 2015. After working in various breweries and studying brewing for around 30 years, the trained mechanic was able to produce the necessary fermentation tanks and equipment for his own brewery. At his brewing facility, Posod brews about 10 hectoliters a week, which he mainly sells as draft beer. In the summer of 2015, however, Posod announced that it would gradually increase its output to 30 hectoliters per week. For his "mill beer", a Pilsner with 4.9 percent alcohol and 11.5 percent original wort, Posod uses only ingredients from Austria, whereby the hops come from Leutschach in Styria.
