Just a few kilometers from the border with the Czech Republic, in the middle of the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park, is the picturesque resort of Moosbach. Lorenz Scheuerer founded the Scheuerer brewery in 1887. Since then, his son Johann I, grandson Johann II and great-grandson Erhard have continued the family tradition with great passion. The next generation is already ready: After completing his business studies, son Ulrich Scheuerer also learned the craft of brewing and is therefore well prepared for the tasks ahead. Soft brewing water of the very best quality, with the best malt from malting barley and wheat from the well-known Bavarian cultivation areas, as well as fine aroma hops from Spalt and the Hallertau, these are the raw materials that enable our master brewer to produce our quality beers. Brewing is, of course, only carried out according to the requirements of the Bavarian Purity Law from 1516. This tradition is perfectly implemented with the most modern technology. Our small, well-stocked brewery produces 11 different top-fermented and bottom-fermented beers.
