Description

The König Brauerei is a company of the Bitburger Brewery Group. In 1858 the brewery was founded by Theodor König. The first annual output of the brewery was 206 hectoliters. The brewery is best known for its main beer "König Pilsener". During the Second World War, the brewery was almost completely destroyed in an air raid. After the war, reconstruction and national distribution began. In 2000, the König family sold the brewery to Holsten AG, which was later sold to the Danish brewer Carlsberg. Here, the brewery was then spun off and sold to the Bitburger Holding.
