It all started in 2012 with a 25-liter mini-system in a disused kitchen in the middle of Basel. Fabian Ehinger, the first Swiss Kitchen Brewer, created innovative and substantial specialty beers on a small scale. In 2016 an ideal location in Allschwil near Basel could be moved into and so the opening of this unique location was celebrated in the beginning of November. The Kitchen Brew beers are brewed by Fabian Ehinger and brewmaster Tobias Hoffmann inspired by the North American craft beer world. Significantly more malt and hops are used for the production than usual. This makes these specialty beers with hops from the Yakima Valley in Washington State / USA a very special taste experience.
