Description
The cellar brewery in Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria was first mentioned in 1446. It is 100% privately owned and is considered the oldest beer brewery in Austria, which made it an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. The predominant distribution area with around 80 catering establishments supplied is in the Innviertel and Hausruckviertel, but the beer is also available from specialist stores across regions. In July 2013, the brewery announced that it would have to shut down due to a negative future forecast for small breweries. Operation ceased in the same year.
