Description

The KARMELITER-Bräu at Bad Neustadt-Salz in the magnificent Rhoen is one of the oldest breweries in Bavaria. Far the roots of the monastery go back to the early Middle Ages. In 1348, on the occasion of a vow, the construction of the monastery was started and demonstrably completed in its original form in 1352. For over 650 years, a classic monastery beer has been brewed here far away from the big cities, embedded in the wonderful nature of the Rhön. Over the centuries, the valuable recipes that have been handed down have been cultivated and preserved in order to preserve the typical taste that not only the people of the region have come to appreciate so much. Today, the brewery is completely dedicated to the cultivation of this valuable commodity. The brewery has been family-owned since 1923.
