Description

KARMELITER is one of the oldest beers in Bavaria; our roots go back to the early Middle Ages. Our old home, the Carmelite monastery in Bad Neustadt an der Saale in Franconia, was first mentioned in a document in 1352. In the same year, the Carmelite friars began producing their delicious monastery beer. And it wasn't long before the excellent beers were not only popular around the tower of the monastery church, but throughout the wonderful Rhön region. Unfortunately, the monastery brewery no longer exists today. What has remained, however, are the recipes that have been handed down for centuries, the demand for the highest quality and the passion for brewing delicious and drinkable beer.
