In 2010, Kalea created a beer advent calendar for the first time. It was something entirely new at the time, and no one could have anticipated the rapid growth of its fan base. Over the years, Peter Reimann and his team encouraged many breweries to brew special beers specifically for the calendar. In 2017, they took it a step further and created the Kalea Gipsy Edition. Bad Santa was the first product in the lineup, followed by Perlenzauber and many more. The beers are brewed in a different brewery each year, and the beer style often changes as well. They are all vintage beers, limited in quantity, only available in Kalea boxes, making them true rarities.
