Description

Neuhaus an der Pegnitz is located between Nuremberg and Bayreuth on the edge of Franconian Switzerland. The medieval Veldenstein Castle towers proudly and loftily above the idyllic market town of Neuhaus. Under the sign of this castle, we brew with state-of-the-art technology according to good old brewing tradition. Initially, we brewed our beer in the municipality's own brewery, and it was not until 1929 that Kaiser Bräu became an independent commercial brewery, which until 1939 had an annual output of just 900 hectoliters. In 1946, Andreas Laus joined the brewery, which at that time had the still modest output of about 1,800 hectoliters a year. By 1960, sales had already reached 10,000 hectoliters. The communal brewhouse was therefore soon too small, so that in 1965 the brewery built its own brewhouse on Oberer Markt. The cramped location in the center of Neuhaus was also not sufficient for further development of the brewery, so we built a new, spacious brewing facility in the Auwald forest that was capable of expansion. Beer production began there in 1991. In the following years, we moved all other brewery departments to Auwald. Since then, beers have been produced and bottled in this newly built brewery on the Auwald with state-of-the-art brewing technology and optimal quality assurance. Although we see ourselves as a medium-sized regional brewery, Kaiser Bier and the Veldensteiner brand have found their fans far beyond the local borders and are now exported to several countries, such as Italy, China and Russia. In addition to our efforts to produce excellent beers of our own, we are also known nationwide as a bottling and logistics center. We also take care of bottling in various special containers for other breweries. Since the commercial foundation we have been an independent private brewery in family ownership. Today, Josef Laus is the third generation to manage the brewery.
