Herzog von Franken

1697 is the actual founding year of the brewery from which today's "Burgbrauerei Herzog von Franken" emerged in 1998. This makes the Thüngen brewery one of the oldest breweries still in existence in the whole of Bavaria. In keeping with the centuries-long brewing tradition in the house of Thüngen (since 1697), another successful traditional company joined in 1998: the Arnsteiner Brauerei Max Bender of the Schubert family. Over 20 years of the Duke of Franconia - the entrepreneurial adventure began on July 1, 1998 with the first brew in the brewery in Thüngen based on the brewing tradition of the Barons of Thüngen since 1697. The courage to do so was provided by the owner of the house and certified farmer Hanskarl Baron of Thüngen with the Thüngen brewmaster Dieter Beutel and Dr. Susan Schubert, owner of the Arnsteiner Brauerei Max Bender.
