Description
25 years ago it all began in the kitchen - today in its own brewery with 10 hl brewhouse. In February 1998, the first brew was made according to the description from two brewing books in a 30 liter pot on a kitchen stove and with 2 immersion boilers. After various filtering methods, from gauze diapers to nylon pantyhose, the targeted 20 liters turned into 2 liters, which was an excellent beer according to the opinion at that time. In the middle of 2001 there was the first major setback after we covered a 50 liter brew for open fermentation in the cellar with a cloth and our tomcat thought he had to make himself comfortable on it..... Fortunately, the hangover survived the beer bath, which is why the idea was born to call the beer "Hangover Beer". Other ideas from XXL to Sir Plopp were considered, but at the beginning of 2006 we finally came up with the name that the beers were always named after in the past: after the name of the first brewmaster. So we came up with DennEr for Dennis and Erich In September 2003, a brewing seminar with Dr. Hagen Rudolph, who showed us in the simplest way how to brew beer in a boiling pot, resulted in a significant progress. This and the change to liquid yeast gave our beer a significant quality boost forward. A 1 hl brewhouse was followed by a cold store and a bottling line for 1 liter bottles and 2 liter siphons. After building an additional cold store with 3hl tanks in the summer of 2009, we placed an order for a two unit brewhouse with 3hl capacity in mid-2010. In April 2017, the former Röhr brewery in Sonneborn was acquired and in the 10 hl brewhouse and the 23 hl tanks we could produce almost 150,000 liters of beer per year. And all this still on a part-time basis.
