Description
Hinterhofidylle 2006: Brezn, beer and Sechzger. Like many modern success stories, Giesinger Bräu also started in a garage. However, this is not Silicon Valley, but Untergiesing: Here, deep in the shadow of the Holy Cross Church, today's Giesinger Biermanufaktur and specialties Braugesellschaft mbH has its roots. In 2007, Birkenau already produced and sold 300 hectoliters of beer - and demand increased even further. Already in 2009, they produced a proud 750 hectoliters of beer in the small backyard brewery. The founding of Giesinger Biermanufaktur and Spezialitätenbraugesellschaft mbH was of course a milestone, at that time still very young entrepreneurs. But it was also something special for Munich, as it was the first brewery start-up in the city for more than 200 years. In 1889 the Thomasbräu was opened on the Kapuzinerplatz by the brothers Eugen and Ludwig Thomas, which was later bought by the Paulaner brewery.
