Description

The first mention of a pub, at that time still in connection with a grocer's shop, dates back to 1843. The owners at the time, the brothers Stefan and Konrad Wiehenpeter, also ran a farm. This was only given up in the 1970s. In 1905, Heinrich Hesse from Neuenkirchen married Ida Frickenstein, a niece of the Wiehenpeter brothers. After the death of the last Wiehenpeter in 1919, Heinrich Hesse took over the business and received the pub licence on 1 August 1920.
