Description

According to legend, it was the Flemish king Gambrinus who made the truly royal discovery of the beer. Johann Pfab from Weiden in the Upper Palatinate remembered this legendary King on the North Sea coast and founded in 1927 the Gambrinus brewery with inn and butcher. This began an unprecedented corporate career, which is on everyone's lips right up to the present day. Son Georg Pfab shared his father's passion and modernized the brewery after the Second World War to a progressive and pioneering brewing business. After the handover to the two nephews Ernst Rohrwild and Alois Frieser, the Weidener brewery increased the output continuously. After the departure of Alois Frieser in 1982, Ernst Rohrwild took over the brewery as the sole owner and managed it until December 2009. Since 2010, the brewery has been continued as a limited liability company. 13 spicy beers, eleven lemonades and many tasty juices are produced and distributed in the Weiden traditional brewery. Several of the highly coveted DLG awards in gold and silver speak for the excellent quality of the beers.
