Description

The name fusel is based on the Latin word "fusilis", which means flowing or liquid. This refers to the moment when one of our refreshing drinks creates a special taste sensation as it flows through the palate. Nowadays, "fusel" is increasingly used in German to mean cheap brandy or lesser quality schnapps. Of course, this cannot be applied to our high-quality selection, so a Germanist would speak of a dysphemism - a deliberately negative use of the word to emphasize the actual positive meaning.
