Description
A Georg, two Johann and five Karl Wagner - eight generations shape the history of the Eschenbacher private brewery. Firmly rooted in native soil, they remained loyal to the farmer's garden for about two centuries, in addition to their activity as a brewer. Only in 1952 was the concentration on beer production with the expansion of sales for the then owner, the senior boss Karl Georg Wagner (in the order of ancestors of the same name jokingly "Charles IV" and his son Karl Werner Wagner - today Brewery owners - to name "Charles V") no longer have any scope to deal with the 22 hectares of agriculture. This separation undoubtedly meant a sharp break in the tradition of peasant origin. However, the total changeover to a fully automatic brewery plant in state-of-the-art buildings with the associated machinery required the working methods adapted to the needs of the 20th and 21st century. In Frankfurt am Main, if a brief thought flight is allowed, a child who was to become the greatest German poet, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, was just one year old when, in 1750, beer was first brewed in the small village of Eschenbach.
