Description

The brewery was founded in 1900 as "Adler Brauerei GmbH" for four generations and on September 5, 1900, the first beer produced in Bielstein left the brewery. "Born out of necessity" - this phrase literally applies to the founding of the Erzquell Brewery more than 100 years ago. The spinning and tearing of Ernst Kind and his brother-in-law Karl Kattwinkel came at the end of the 19th century in an economic imbalance. Ernst Kind dared then despite his 50 years again the new beginning. With the existing reserves, he converted the factory into a brewery. The art of brewing learned child in the Bavarian brewing school Weihenstephan. He set his future nephew Fritz Ehrlicher as a master brewer. To feed spring water into the brewery, a water pipeline several kilometers long had to be built first. The Wiehltalbahn, which was founded in 1897, was ideal for getting the necessary raw materials and at the same time the beer could be transported away. On 5 September 1900 left then the first beer of the Adler brewery GmbH - the then name - the brewhouse in Bielstein.
