Description
Peter Joseph Früh erected a brewery named Cölner Hofbräu P. Josef Früh in 1904 in the building of the former "Central Theater" or the restaurant "Schützenliesel", Am Hof 12, in the immediate vicinity of the Cologne Cathedral, after 1895-1898 at the Apostelnstrasse a first brewery, the Aposteln-Bräu had operated. Through his daughters Netty and Christel, there was a family connection to another Cologne brewery dynasty, the Immendorf family. From the Immendorf brewery in Zündorf later the Union Brewery or the Hubertus Brewery was born. In terms of annual production, Früh is the third largest Kölsch brewery with 400,000 hectoliters. The restaurant Am Hof is particularly popular with tourists not only because of their proximity to Cologne Cathedral, but also because the brewery strives to preserve old Cologne brewhouse traditions, eg. B. Brauhausatmosphäre, Fassausschank by Zappes, service by Köbesse and the offer of typical Cologne dishes.
