Description

The Colbitzer brewery was founded in 1872 by Friedrich-Christoph Ritter and remained until 1959 a pure family business. From this year onwards, like many private companies at that time, it was nationalized and finally nationalized on 14 February 1972. It was not until 1 June 1991 that the brewery was re-assigned to the great-grandchildren of the company's founder, Ms. Barbara Schreiter and Mr. Klaus Niemer. With an investment of 16 million DM in the 90s, an extensive modernization to the then state of the art. After the surprising death of the owner, a new management took over the fortunes of the brewery. Their aim was to further position the "Colbitzer Heidebrauerei" as an independent East German company on the market and to permanently optimize the beer quality through further investments. On 1 September 2013, the Colbitzer Heide Brewery started under new leadership. She acts with her well-known beer specialties as the home brewery of Saxony-Anhalt completely independent and responsible.
