Description

In 1850, at the request of the Prince of Chimay, the Cistercian Abbey in Chimay was founded by monks from the St. Sixtus Trappist Abbey of Westvleteren (see also Westvleteren beer). Since 1862, Chimay has been brewed there with what is known as particularly “tender” water.
