Description
The pub and brewery "Zum Sternla" stands for coziness, regional beer and delicious food - for Franconian tradition.
A compiled history of all the owners and hosts goes back to the year the foundation stone was laid - to 1380. Various carters and hosts have shaped the history of the "Sternlas" over the decades. Among the owners was Rudolf Maisel from the brewery of the same name. Even today, lamps with this historical reference adorn our "Schwemme".
In its heyday in the 19th century, Bamberg had 65 breweries and 22 beer cellars. Today, over 60 different types of beer are still brewed at ten breweries.
One brewery was added in 2019. Uwe Steinmetz, initially a tenant and owner since 2008, is converting the pub so that it can brew, tap and drink its own beer from the fall.
