Description

The brewery Wieselburg is a large brewery in the Lower Austrian town of Wieselburg. Their most famous products are the beer brands Kaiser and Wieselburger. The beer tradition of Wieselburg dates back to 1650. However, the year 1770 was considered the foundation when Josef Schauer bought the brewery. It was expanded in 1811 and after the brewery in 1823 went to Franz Schauer, she acquired Nepomuk Mutzer. In 1858, the brewery Wieselburg was damaged by fire. In 1860, the company went to Josef Riedmüller, who greatly expanded the area. In 1888, today's brewery farm was added. In 1912, among other things, the breweries in Krems, Kröllendorf, Melk and Pottenbrunn were bought. When the Austrian Brau AG, the predecessor of Brau Union Österreich AG, was founded in 1925, the brewery Wieselburg also joined the company. Between 1971 and 1973, the operation was greatly modernized by new buildings and was then one of the most modern breweries in Europe.
