Our beer started with a spaghetti pan On a Saturday morning in the last century, some budding home brewers brewed 18 liters of beer in a spaghetti pan. The process of brewing and the result were so stimulating and convincing that the need arose to make more of it. This gave rise to the idea of holding a special exhibition on brewing home beer at Muba 97. The response to the special show, which was brewed every day on three small systems, was enormous. The idea of starting a brewery was born quickly, and the rest didn't last much longer. Today the small brewery Unser Bier is (unfortunately) the largest brewery in Beider Basel. Since it had reached its capacity limits on Laufenstrasse after eleven years, it moved to Gundeldinger Feld (formerly Sulzer-Burckhardt-Areal). At the beginning of March 2010, it started operations there with an enlarged facility, additional fermentation and storage tanks and a new bottle washing and filling facility. Our beer is now the only larger brewery in Basel that brews all of its beers in Basel and also bottles them in Basel.
