Brauerei Gundel

More than 400 years ago - in 1602 - a brewery was first reported in Barthelmesaurach, which was called "Brauerei zur Krone". Since 1887, the brewery has been owned by the Gundel family. At that time Konrad Gundel acquired the brewery. After that, according to the succession, the brewery owners Johann, Ludwig and Georg Gundel followed. Brewmaster Jörg Gundel is thus the 5th generation of the brewing family. The best ingredients from the region such as Aurachtal water from our own well, hops, malt and yeast combined with the latest technology and traditional recipes make our beer a Gundel. With a direct marketing share of more than 90% of the total output and a small number of selected distribution partners, we can keep quality and prices stable as a microbrewery and retain our economic autonomy. We owe this independence to our customers and loyal distribution partners and the operating philosophy that has been preserved for generations: quality instead of quantity!
