Description
1386 sees itself as a local microbrewery. Deeply rooted and connected to the Sempach community and its history. The founders of 1386 all grew up in Sempach and are very involved in and for the community in different ways. Of course, 1386 stands for the year of the Battle of Sempach, when the Confederates, thanks to the self-sacrificing help of Winkelried, won the victory over the Habsburgs and thus took an important step towards founding Switzerland. 1386 lies at the origin of our modern federal state, our homeland. So 1386 stands less for battle and more for peace. For us, 1386 is a symbol of a modern and contemporary approach to tradition. We believe that traditions are important for the cohesion and definition of a society. At the same time, traditions should and must always be able to be adapted to new times and questioned. For us, 1386 symbolizes less the past than the beginning of the future.
